Why production AI needs Forward Deployed Engineers

Models and platforms are available. The gap is ownership, cadence, and the last mile into systems your teams already run.

A geometric seat set inside an indigo structure

Most enterprise AI programs stall after the pilot. McKinsey's November 2025 State of AI survey put regular AI use at 88 percent of organizations and enterprise scaling at about one third. The companies it called high performers, about 6 percent, were far more likely to have redesigned the workflow and to have a defined process for when a model output needs a person to check it. Senior leaders owned the work.

That is an operating problem. The model can be fine and the handoff can still fail: no owner, no data contract, no review cadence, no place in the system people already open.

A seat in the standup

AxlFlo's Forward Deployed Engineers design, build, and deploy production-ready workflows and agents inside your environment, on the Microsoft Cloud your teams already use. The working rhythm is Identify, Build, Deploy, Prove.

  • Identify the work worth changing and the business measure before any build starts
  • Build the workflow, integrations, controls, and experience in your tenant
  • Deploy with the access, monitoring, and enablement daily use requires
  • Prove adoption and the business result before the next scope decision

Copilot Studio's governance model draws the same line. Its professional zone is for mission-critical agents: IT-led development, lifecycle management, and stronger controls than a personal experiment. Production AI needs someone accountable in that zone. That is the seat an FDE takes, from the first workflow through adoption.
